The sad reality is that if a thief wants to steal your bike, they probably will. That doesn't mean we shouldn't protect it adequately, or at least try to make their dirty work more difficult, and who knows, maybe that'll be enough to catch them red-handed. Lightweight, easy-to-carry coiled chains or U-locks for superior protection are both useful deterrents.
